It's late at night as Ali starts out for a night of taxi driving when his motors quit in front of the Vic just as Den is leaving for the night. Andy watches Den leave from the doorway to No 43 and then starts in the side door to the pub, bumping into Lofty coming out. He tells Lofty he left his gloves inside. Lofty tries to help Ali with his car but Lou starts yelling out her window for them to quiet down then Arthur pokes his head out the upstairs window telling her to quiet down. Lofty agrees to look at the car in the morning (about 6.30).
Den returns to the pub the next morning at 7.30 sharp for delivery day and yells at Lofty to shift the car away from the front of the Vic.
Simon rushes upstairs to tell Angie that Den is back and Andy narrowly escapes being found there. As he leaves by the side door Andy bumps into Lofty again saying he is still looking for his gloves. When they finish with the delivery, one of the men offers Den an extra Churchills at half-price (strictly cash of course) and Den greedily agrees to support a bit of employee theft.
At dinnertime, Lofty tells Ali that his car needs a new motor.. and that it might be worth £30-40 for scrap if he got another one.
Dot awakens early in a panic, she'd dreamt she was dying. Nick gives her a scolding for waking him up. She goes to see Dr Legg but leaves as the surgery is crowded. Pauline and Mary are there with babies for check-ups and get advice to get baby injections against whooping cough. Mary tells Andy about Nick's proposition and asks his advice on what she should do.
Arthur goes in to pick up his last pay cheque from the Walford Cleaning Services.
Knowing about Angie's affair with Andy, Simon is feeling caught in the middle between Angie and Den. He asks Pete's advice. Pete tells him he should turn a blind eye to Andy and not get involved in it. But Simon has a hard time doing that. And so does Kathy when Angie tells her she is having a little fling with Andy to teach Den a lesson. Kathy points out what this could be doing to Sharon and tells Angie that she can't stand by her on this one. Kathy hands in her notice to quit working at the pub.
Sue tells Ethel about the baby she is expecting in confidence and the news is soon all over the Square. That night the Osmans (Sue, Ali, Mehmet and Guizin) are celebrating the news in the pub.
Simon gets Andy alone upstairs for a word about his affair with Angie and the effect it is having on Sharon. Andy accuses him of being jealous and how he wouldn't turn her down if she offered and Simon replied "Oh but she has mate.."
At episode end, Nick is seen taking blank cheques from Dot cheque book.
